Milk! MILK!

We got about six inches of nasty, wet, heavy snow here in the last twenty-four hours or so, and we’re supposed to get more. It’s unpleasant. It literally took me 45 minutes to drive about 100 yards on my way to work this afternoon. People are out of their minds.
On my way home, I stopped at

Visual Month in Review

I like my visual week in review posts, but I haven’t done one in a while. So now that I’ve located an SD card reader and finally transferred things over, here are all of my camera phone pictures since mid-September, instead!
Included adventures are dog-sitting, an ill-fated trip to New York City, a night out in

Irony

The Dinosaur BBQ is looking to open a restaurant in Troy. Yay, I say!
My celebration politely ignores the fact that in decades of living in, then periodically visiting Syracuse, I have never visited the original Dinosaur. Details, details. I do have a lot of great t-shirts from there, though.

Appetizers, Potter’s Tavern, Raymertown, NY

Sweet potato fries and stuffed baked potatoes. Both were wonderful. You know you’re using some fantastic bacon when I can’t get enough of it–I usually pick bacon out of things or avoid it entirely. This, I might even eat a piece of on its own, and I haven’t eaten bacon by itself in about twenty

First Baptist Church sign, At the Warehouse, Albany

I like At the Warehouse, but none of the old things lying around ever strike my fancy.

Maple Ridge Wind Farm, Lowville, NY

What’s with my camera?

I thought I’d post a visual aid to show what’s still wrong with my camera after it came back from the repair center.

Yeah, the flowers are not supposed to be that nausea-inducing shade of pink.
Check out this super-cool rainbow inside the fountain, though.

Baby ducks

Poor picture because my camera is old and cranky, but here are the sweet little baby ducks I followed at the park today.

Grocery deal tip: splitting up our Triscuit

I wish that the “Still have our dignity” sketch from Kids in the Hall were available somewhere online on video. I sing it to myself every time I eat Triscuits. I admit that I have a problem.
But, a quick tip for people who live near a Price Chopper and like snacks. Wheat Thins and Triscuits

Like an electric blanket! For muffins!

I stopped by a church garage sale over near SUNY on Friday evening.  I didn’t buy this bun warmer, but it made me smile for some reason. I like saying “bun warmer.” I also really love the avocado coffee percolator in the background.
Most of what was at the garage sale, like this bun warmer, seemed
