Genetically engineered for adorableness

Maybe this whole hamster cam thing is just a waste of time,” I think. Then Cartman gets caught by the camera looking almost unfathomably cute, and I have no choice. The cam stays.

Window Dressing

AJ helped me to set up my display at Uncommon Grounds Saratoga. I’m still not super excited about it. I didn’t bring the best fabrics with me, and I think I could have made much better use of the space with something drapier. Not sure what else I have in my fabric stash that I

Milk! MILK!

We got about six inches of nasty, wet, heavy snow here in the last twenty-four hours or so, and we’re supposed to get more. It’s unpleasant. It literally took me 45 minutes to drive about 100 yards on my way to work this afternoon. People are out of their minds.
On my way home, I stopped at

Nights in Rodentia

I sleep a lot better when there are animals around. I don’t know why exactly, but I think it’s pretty simple: I like animals. They comfort me. They make me feel less lonely, but I know they won’t judge me if I thrash around or snore or talk in my sleep. I move around less

Happy berfday, bestest friend

Happy birthday to my best friend and furry little sister Maggie! She turned 9 on Saturday. My parents made her a cake. Since the cake contains chocolate and flour, she couldn’t eat a crumb of it, but they told her how delicious it was.

The sweetest earworm of them all

Whenever I hear the words “sugar beets,” my mind flashes back to this “Sesame Street” segment from the early ‘80s. Then the song remains lodged in my head for hours, days, or weeks, until it’s displaced by something less infuriating. Now you can suffer, too.

I blame Abe Sauer for this.

Behold: the Hamstercam

I found my webcam, so we all know what that means!

The present stars are Campbell’s dwarf roommates, Erica Cartman and Kylie Broflovski. Familiarly, Cartman and Kylie.

This week’s project, completed.

Behold: my first ever completed pair of adult-size socks. I’ve made one pair of baby socks, but this was more ambitious. I think they turned out acceptable. I wouldn’t inflict them on anyone else, but I will wear them with pride and snuggles.
For the knitters in the crowd: this is all Lion Wool-Ease worsted (80%

Insert congratulatory song

I’d like to congratulate AJ and her Last.fm account on an impressive milestone. Back when we were roommates, she dragged me into using it too. I’m at 72,017, so I’m getting there. I’ll catch up yet.

My Firefox add-ons, let me show you them

I really like Firefox. Mostly, I like it because there are some add-ons I’ve come to depend on. I can install them and have identical tools across platforms for work and recreational web use. Since I switch between Mac OS, Linux, and Windows (sometimes in the same day) that’s important to me.
So here are my add-ons.
