My hamsterbabies are sort of almost famous!

Now that I have a dedicated work desk again, I was considering buying the Cute Overload desk calendar for 2010 and then sticking all of the discarded calendar pages on the walls of my office. The wall calendar is nice, too, but I like to go with 100% dog content for my wall calendars.

Except WAIT A MINUTE WHO ARE THOSE FURRY LITTLE RASCALS ON MAY 7 AND 8

I know those little tiny faces! The center hammy (with the racing stripes on his cheeks) still lives in that very cage and sleeps in that very igloo, in fact. Only he’s much bigger now. And middle-aged, instead of teeny enough to fit in the palm of my hand.

No, appearing in this calendar is not going to be our ticket to fame, fortune, and gold-plated hamster igloos. I love Cute Overload and have since the very beginning. I have two favorite blogs, and since I already have the immense privilege of working for Consumerist, I could make my life complete only by going to work for Cute Overload.

I don’t think they’re hiring, though, so I did the next best thing and sent in a submission of the cutest photographs i have ever taken. They used them almost a year after I submitted them (hey, I understand backlogs) and it resulted in this super cute post.

And now it’s on the calendar! I’m so proud of my grandhamsters. And they get a Hamsterday, no less!
