Bothering with Snow Leopard

Trying to decide whether I want to go to Snow Leopard, or give it a few weeks or months to give various programs time to catch up and the first security update a chance to come out. MacMall has it cheaper than the Apple Store so I am sorely tempted and kind of wish I had two Macs so I could experiment.

I’m either going to buy or build another machine so I can have a nice Linux/occasional Windows box in my office. I need a backup computer since my life and especially my professional life spun out of control when my beloved Macbook went in for repairs.
