It’s lonely at the top, Brucie
I wish more people would play Paranormal Deathmatch. It’s such a silly game, but 5 years and several
server and URL changes in, I still enjoy it. I remember getting my friends and hallmates addicted at the end of college, and playing during idle time when I worked in the computer lab.
It’s not easy to be a fan of it, since every so often the bandwidth will go over or the domain name changes, and once it disappeared for a few years. Looking back to when there were tens or hundreds of thousands of characters registered, the vast majority of those people forgot about the game when it went offline, or simply didn’t care enough to seek it out. A lot of people also stopped playing when the game was overtaken by people using scripts…understandable.
Once you reach the higher levels, there’s no one above you to beat, and the game essentially stops. Points and money within the game depend on beating people at a higher level than yourself. If you have few to no people above you who are beatable….the game stops being fun.
