Apples to apples

I made a special trip up to Latham to see if any Apple-related merchandise was still available at the CompUSA store closing sale.  Not even so much as a copy of Quicken for Mac (which is what I was after) let alone any Sims expansion packs.  CompUSA always had a decent selection of Mac machines and accessories, and sometimes parts and accessories, like the old AC adapters, that even the big Apple Store in Albany didn’t keep in stock.  I discovered this after my adapter caught fire and I bought a third-party one.

We Mac users have few opportunities to buy software at a discount in a retail store, since there’s so little competition.  So I braved the nonsensical traffic patterns of Latham Farms to at least try.

    Laurie,

I was there yesterday, there is actually a lot of Mac software and memory left it is on the backside of the Camera Counter in cases, all 30% off. There was most of the Apple branded titles iLife ’08, iWork ’08 etc.. also some pricier like apeture. Since you can never find this discounted that is a very good deal, I had just bought copies of both plus Leopard and a few other title a couple of weeks ago on line. I would have saved $200!

Thanks, Marc! I’ll go check that out, then.
