Crazy hamster ladies unite
I was explaining to a friend how when I get my own house or my own apartment with a spare bedroom, I am basically going to become Jessica Wells of the New York Hamster House. (I’m already “Laurie who rescues hamsters” to at least one person in the local rescue community.) Anyway, I looked at the NYHH Web site and saw that they were featured on The Cute Show, and I am right now, as of this very minute, addicted to that silly little show. Seriously, ice cream trucks and cupcakes and puppies and hamsters? Have I been sneaking off to New York City in my sleep and making TV shows about my very favorite things?
Speaking of adorable things, I was finally able to get Rodent Break running again based on a program that I haven’t been using since 1996. It’s running on Gallery. Eventually I’d like to open the site up to user submissions, so now I’m trying to figure out how to let users submit photos but not have them go straight into the randomizer. Apparently this is a popular feature that Gallery users want but nobody wants to write a module for it…at least not a module dumbed down enough that I could install it.
Rodent Break is really Mortimer’s legacy–I started it around the time that he died. But it’s nice to see my other little friends who are no longer with me live on on the site.
