Giving a fat kid a cookie

CSEA signed a new contract.  There’s a healthy comment thread about it on Capitol Confidential.  Keep an eye on this one.
At least someone other than the usual crew is commenting.

Crush with Internets

I like to play with photos, but I don’t have the Photoshop skills or patience to change my appearance significantly. I also have a low budget and not much skill with makeup. I love playing around with makeover sites, and I was surprised at how well Makeover Solutions worked. It has a

Power!

My dad sent me this link. You can see the Tug Hill windmills from satellites already, and they’re recognizable. It’s exciting to see.  I didn’t think that there would be satellite images of that region available yet.  Google Earth hasn’t even hit the neighborhood where I grew up yet.

Freezing our paws off

All hamster-related news items and blog posts make their way to me, so let me pre-emptively announce:
I have already seen this.
And I lol’d.

First Happy Endings, now Westcott…

Oh, no!  The Westcott is where I got to see “Amélie” for the first time–the Hamilton French club made a special trip when I was in college.
I never ventured there when I lived in Syracuse, though, which is indicative of the problem here.  I shouldn’t complain when I’m part of the cause of the problem.

Hamsterinsomnia

Bailey hasn’t slept in over 24 hours. She’s been running nonstop. I would guess that she somehow got into the chocolate-covered coffee beans, but she’s on some whole other level. I think maybe she and the mice have a tiny rodent-sized meth lab underneath our oven.
I stuck my hand in her cage to

Colleges compete…humanity wins!

I was listening to NPR a while ago and happened to catch interviews with some members of the MIT team taking part in the BP Solar Decathlon. It piqued my interest in the project and made me start thinking about solar energy, conservation, and self-sufficient homes in general. Preparing for another winter with

Hamsterrrrr!

New hamster video! I can’t get this to work embedded, so here’s the link.
Early on, someone in the comments complained about the music I used.  My mom agreed, so I stopped asking people.
I really like that song.  It’s one of the top tracks on my gym playlist, for example. Maybe just the first part is

Where did it go?

What happened to Paranormal Deathmatch?! Help!
I feel like I should be mourning. That game really was a lot of fun.  I like things that are silly and low-tech like that.  I used to play it on MacOS 9 when I worked in the computer labs at Hamilton.  Not as much fun when people
